The First Grade team and I collaborated on a recent project in which we studied the works of author Ezra Jack Keats. Students evaluated the characters of Louie and Peter - two characters that show up again and again in many of Keats books. The characters each have their own unique characteristics that bring life into each of the stories in which they are featured. After studying these characters, students created their own stories based around what it would be like if Louie or Peter visited FPG and spent the day in first grade!
